David Redshaw

I joined ISL as the service manager for Leeds Halton and East supported living services in November 2023. Prior to coming to ISL I have worked within various fields and with a diverse range of clients with complex needs for around 18 years, of which 15 years is project development and service management including regional manager for the Football League trust.  I started my career working as a youth worker with children and young people ages 10-19 and worked in various capacities of this including with young offenders, schools work, young people who suffer with mental health and those that are victims of or vulnerable to CSE and county lines. Over the years I have spread my wings and started working with adults and for the past 7 years I have managed supported housing services well as dispersed properties and been responsible for the overall health and safety of these units as well as the safeguarding lead within my service. This includes working with young care leavers and young adults who have various complex needs including dual diagnosis, physical and mental health needs and men who are victims of domestic violence. I have previously also been involved with developing and delivering training packages to professionals.

I try and work in a purpose driven, trauma informed and strength based way and have passion and drive to support clients to make positive changes to encourage overall better mental health. Throughout my career I have been fortunate enough to develop my skills and knowledge including being a MHFA and I hope to be able to use this within my role at ISL. I try and bring the best out of people and staff and I believe that every person with the right support can achieve their goals and reach their full potential. Without knowing our passion it’s hard to find our place in the world and I believe in helping clients to find their passions and supporting people to pursue these.
