Annual Plan 2020 - 2021

2019/2020 has been a great year for ISL, we celebrated our 3rd birthday and would like to thank everyone who has supported us on this journey.

This year we opened 2 new services and worked with partners to secure sites for 3 further services with commissioner support. These are due to open in 2020/21 supporting a further 30 people who have mental health issues, physical disabilities, learning disabilities and other complex needs.

In addition, we have commissioner support to deliver in 3 further areas once sites are secured. We were on schedule to meet our objective of opening service number 7 this year, however COVID 19 has impacted on this development objective. We have had to adapt our plans and ambitions in response to this. Our response has been to review the mobilisation strategy on these projects with commissioners and development partners, ensuring they are kept live and progressing whatever items we can remotely until restrictions begin to lift.

We received our first unannounced inspection from the Care Quality Commission (CQC) in February 2020. We were proud to receive a ‘Good’ rating, also achieving a ‘Good’ in all 5 key lines of enquiry. The entire inspection report was positive with some real person centred feedback including

It is not only our teams that have been achieving great things, but also the people we support. We have seen people enter new phases of their lives, attending college courses, gaining employment, making new relationships, going to universities and also moving on to more independent living.

It is with this passion and drive that we enter the next phase of the ISL journey during 2020-2021, continuing to grow, achieve great outcomes and develop a staff team with the skills and abilities to truly achieve great things.
