A Wonderful Evening at the Live! Cheshire Winter Ball

Members of our team had the pleasure of attending the Live! Cheshire Winter Ball on Friday – a brilliant celebration hosted by our long-standing charity partner, Live! Cheshire.

The event brought together staff, supporters, families and, most importantly, the Live! members and volunteers themselves for an evening filled with music, connection and festive cheer. Guests enjoyed a delicious four-course meal, a charity raffle which raised almost £2000, and a special Christmas tree where everyone was invited to write a positive message for 2026 on a paper bauble. These were then swapped for handcrafted baubles decorated by Live! members – a thoughtful touch that captured the spirit of the night.

Entertainment came from two talented groups: the Patchwork Choir, made up of Live! members, and the Chester Big Band, whose energy had the entire room on its feet. Throughout the evening, members also shared some heartfelt words about their experiences at Live!, offering a powerful reminder of the charity’s impact in creating opportunities, friendships and a sense of belonging for people with disabilities.

We were also proud to see some familiar faces on the big screen representing our support for Live! Cheshire. Mo, our Crisis Worker from Rapid Response, attended the event – earlier this year he raised over £1,000 for the charity at a charity boxing match. Mark, also from our Rapid Response team, was there too; last year he raised £630 completing the Yorkshire Three Peaks alongside Paul from Rapid Response and Andy from Head Office. Finally, Ste from Rapid Response, who Abseiled Anfield stadium raising £170 for the charity! A great team effort.

It was a lovely opportunity for our team to see first-hand the incredible work their fundraising helps make possible. Events like the Winter Ball show exactly how these contributions support Live!’s members and create moments of joy, inclusion and community.

We’d like to extend a huge thank you to the entire Live! Cheshire staff team, whose hard work and organisation made the Winter Ball such a success. Their commitment to the charity and its members shines through in everything they do.

As we look ahead to 2026, we’re excited to continue working hard to raise even more funds for this amazing charity and to strengthen our partnership further.
