Community Comes Together to Support Alsager Food Bank

Clients and colleagues from our Alsager Supported Living service recently joined forces to raise funds for their charity partner, Alsager Food Bank, thanks to the determination and community spirit of Deputy Service Manager Lizzie.
After reaching out to local organisations to explore fundraising opportunities, Lizzie was delighted when Hub and Health kindly offered a space outside their venue for a charity stall. With excellent footfall throughout the day, it proved to be the perfect location for bringing the community together in support of a fantastic cause.
The event was supported by clients, colleagues and Mia, who hosts our regular Alsager Music Group. Every item available for sale had been generously donated by team members and clients, creating a wonderfully varied selection that included books, board games, clothing and even hand-painted tiles created especially for the occasion.
Adding a touch of fun to the day, the stall took place on Sir David Attenborough’s birthday, with a cardboard cut-out of the national treasure proudly overseeing proceedings and attracting plenty of smiles from passers-by.
Thanks to the generosity of local residents and visitors, £101 was raised for Alsager Food Bank.
The team would also like to extend a huge thank you to Hub and Health for their support. The Hub’s mission is to develop community by bringing people together through shared spaces, activities and conversation, making it a natural partner for an event focused on connection and giving back. Following the success of the fundraiser, Manager Dev has kindly invited the team back to host future stalls.
If you have any unwanted books, games, clothing or other suitable items that could help support the next fundraiser, please let us know. Every donation helps us continue supporting local charities and strengthening community connections.
A huge well done to everyone involved in making the day such a success!
