Monthly Roundup - February 2024

Written by: ISL

February and early March has been a time of charity momentum with our staff, clients and local charity partners. An incredible steps challenge was completed by the Macclesfield service, and a heart warming valentines coffee morning with the Chester service. More charity events are underway for March and information on these events and donation support will be shared on our news page. Several birthday celebrations were shared by services, progressive health and well-being momentum from January, and some positive socials and outings rounded off the month.

Alsager Supported Living Service:

Staff at Alsager supported clients on a tour of Hanley Museum to see natural history, art and local history. The Alsager team have also been preparing their garden for the Spring.

Blackpool Supported Living Service:

The team at Blackpool celebrated a clients 60th birthday in style. Staff and clients attended a birthday buffet and a DVD night with lots of balloons and bunting as part of the celebration.

Bolton Supported Living Service:

Continuing with the celebratory birthday theme; staff and clients celebrated 5 years since our Bolton Supported Living Service opened. Cakes and sandwiches were thoroughly enjoyed to mark this fantastic occasion.

Crewe Supported Living Service:

The Crewe team went on a tour of Blackpool. Staff and clients enjoyed a beach stroll on a sunny day, and continued their walk down the promenade with hearty food and Blackpools classic entertainment.

Kendal Supported Living Service:

Clients at Kendal dressed to impress and partook in the Friends Group Show. One of the clients proudly used his meywalk frame to walk to the stage and to open the show. Several other clients performed on stage.

Leeds Services Combined:

Staff and clients at ISL Leeds Supported Living Services will be cycling in various forms including 3 static bikes and staff cycling to work to reach 2,200 miles (Tour de France distance) across the entire month of March.

Leeds Gildersome hosted a health & well-being day which included yoga, static bike challenges, healthy recipes and more.

Macclesfield Supported Living Service:

The team at Macclesfield Supported Living took on a 2 million steps challenge for the entire month of February 2024. Clients and staff walked and exercised daily with incredible teamwork and effort. Heavy rain and winds did not stop the team in their tracks!

A total of 2,028,261 steps were completed and £250 was raised via Just Giving for the Silklife Foodbank.

Roman House:

Staff at the Chester service hosted a valentines day coffee morning in partnership with The Windings and raised a total sum of £116.69 for charity partner Live! Cheshire. Scones, crumpets, tea and coffee were served and hearts were well and truly warmed.

Stoke-on-Trent Supported Living Service:

Staff have supported clients in organising and budgeting meals out starting with a curry night. Clients enjoyed the time out together, enjoying good food and drink. Staff and clients also continue to enjoy their local park and mindful walks.

York Supported Living Service:

A client has created a poster to raise awareness of sugar consumption. This eye catching design already has clients discussing sugar content, and telling staff what is in their food. Staff and clients have also started a steps challenge as part of their health & well-being programme.
