A Spooktacular Halloween at our Pudsey Service!

Our Pudsey Service pulled out all the stops on Friday to host a frightfully fun Halloween party for our Yorkshire clients and colleagues – and what a day it was!

There were spooky decorations, creative costumes, and even some delicious treats, including s’mores brownies baked by one of our talented clients and some perfectly themed spooky baked potatoes!

Scarecrow Competition

Each service brought along their own handmade Scarecrow to take part in our friendly competition and the creativity on display was incredible!

  • Morley: Where’s Wally
  • Hillcrest: Elphaba the Witch, and ‘Amy Storm’ made entirely from recycled materials – named after the storm that happened the week they made it!
  • York: Dracula
  • Victoria Court: Mario & Luigi, a Pumpkin Witch and a Coraline inspired scarecrow made from tins by one of our brilliant colleagues!

After some very close judging, we’re thrilled to announce that Hillcrest took home the win with their fantastic Elphaba the Witch scarecrow!

The Mystery of the Missing Pumpkin

But the Halloween fun didn’t stop there – things took a mysterious turn when a note appeared from a kidnapper

“You must solve the clues to find Squashington the pumpkin!”

And so began our very own Murder Mystery, starring our much-loved pumpkin, Squashington! Clients were presented with witness statements from staff who were on duty at the time of the “kidnapping,” and had to use this information to interrogate the suspects and piece together what really happened.

After some dramatic questioning (and nearly accusing the completely innocent acting manager, Matthew!), the truth finally came out — the culprit was Stephen!

Stephen was a good sport and gave a few clues as to where Squashington might be found, leading the group outside to continue their search. After following the trail into the garden, the York team made the big discovery – Squashington was safe and sound, hiding in a bush near the car park!

A Fantastic Day for All

It was a brilliant day full of laughter, teamwork and creativity – a perfect example of how our services come together to make inclusive, fun and meaningful experiences for everyone.

A huge thank you to the Pudsey Service for hosting such a memorable day, and to everyone who joined in across Leeds and York to make it so special.
