Alsager Host a Summer Fun Day!

There was plenty of sunshine, laughter and community spirit as our Alsager Supported Living service hosted a fantastic Summer Fun Day on Friday, bringing together the people we support, colleagues, volunteers and local community members for a day packed with activities.

The event was organised by our dedicated Alsager team, who worked incredibly hard to create a fun and welcoming day that encouraged everyone to get involved.

Guests enjoyed live music from the Alsager Music Group, with volunteer Mia helping to provide a wonderful soundtrack to the day. There were also some very special visitors, as everyone had the chance to spend time with adorable therapy dogs, who proved to be a firm favourite with clients and colleagues alike.

A delicious barbecue kept everyone fuelled throughout the afternoon, while client Alex took centre stage as the host of a lively game of bingo. Alex did a fantastic job keeping everyone entertained, with plenty of excitement as the numbers were called. In the end, support worker Yvonne celebrated a double win by claiming both the line and full house prizes in the final game!

The day also offered something a little different, thanks to one of our volunteers, who shared fascinating facts about celebrating Christmas in Australia. As Christmas falls during Australia’s summer, everyone enjoyed learning about festive traditions on the other side of the world and singing along to some Australian Christmas jingles.

Alongside the entertainment, the event also helped to support a great local cause. A tombola, homemade cakes and a popular ‘Guess the Bear’ competition raised funds for Alsager Foodbank, with attendees generously supporting the fundraiser throughout the day.

Most importantly, the Summer Fun Day provided a fantastic opportunity for the people we support to come together, socialise, try new activities and enjoy spending time with friends, volunteers and colleagues. It was wonderful to see so many clients taking part, building connections and making lasting memories.
