Joanne Mitchell
I joined ISL in April 2024 as a Rapid Response Support Worker and have progressed quickly through a number of roles, moving into a Coordinator position in September 2024, becoming Deputy Head of Rapid in May 2025, and now stepping into the role of Service Manager.
Before moving into mental health, I worked as a Sales Manager in a homewares wholesale business, but I had always wanted to work in this field. Taking the chance to make that change has been one of the best decisions I’ve made, and I haven’t looked back since.
I am passionate about supporting people, making a positive difference, and helping to create a strong, compassionate service. As Service Manager, I am committed to supporting the Rapid team to be the very best they can be, creating an environment where staff feel valued, encouraged, and empowered to do their best work every day.
I am especially focused on ensuring the team provides compassionate, high-quality support to patients who may be going through some of the most difficult times in their lives, helping them feel safe, heard, and supported when they need it most.
