Andrea Roach: Director of Operations

Since beginning my career in Health and Social Care in 1992, I have remained passionate about making a positive difference to people’s lives. Over more than three decades, I have progressed from working as a Support Worker through a variety of operational and senior leadership roles. Having worked at every level of service delivery has given me a genuine understanding of the opportunities, expectations and challenges faced by frontline colleagues, managers and senior leaders, shaping my collaborative and supportive leadership style.

Throughout my career, I have developed extensive experience in leading services for people with learning disabilities and mental health needs across England. This has included leading organisations through CQC inspections, driving continuous quality improvement, supporting service development and working in partnership with Local Authorities and Integrated Care Boards (ICBs) to design and deliver innovative, person-centred support models that enable people to achieve greater independence, develop new skills and access meaningful opportunities.

Since joining ISL in 2023, I have been committed to building a culture where quality, accountability and continuous improvement are embedded throughout the organisation. By working collaboratively with our management teams, we have strengthened governance, enhanced operational oversight and focused on ensuring our services consistently deliver positive outcomes for the people we support.

As we continue to grow, my priority is to ensure that quality remains at the heart of every decision we make. This means listening clients, their families, our colleagues and our stakeholders, embracing innovation where it adds value, and never becoming complacent. I believe that by continually challenging ourselves to improve, we can provide services that not only meet regulatory standards but exceed expectations, enabling people to live the lives they choose with dignity, independence and opportunity
