I have cerebral palsy and brittle bones, when I first moved to Mersey Gardens I was unable to weight bare or do anything for myself, I was unable to hold anything as I had no grip and my arms have involuntary movement, I receives wrap around 1-1 care from ISL.
When I first moved into Mersey Gardens I was fed via a feeding tube to maintain my nutrition and keep me hydrated, I would also receive all of my medication via my tube. I now eat everything independently with the support of the staff and also take all of my medication independently.
I now also attend a volunteer job twice a week, I works in a local charity shop behind the counter along with my 1-1 support staff.
